Some information on how things work:
Lost dog stories are VERY DIFFICULT even when it's someone like Kip.
Most radio stations have a no lost dog policy.
Regional dailies regard the stories as local newspaper domain. Some locals won't even run it.
Most animal stories in the nationals come from news agencies and frequently through the picture desk.
TV is pretty much out of the question.
My next post will seek to sum up where we are and what we should do next.

Could helpers post what media coverage they have seen/heard and what media organisations they have been in contact with.
Many thanks.

I've lost count with radio stations, plagued them on FB, then emailed where I could find an address on websites started with the obvious Metro, capital, real, BBC Newcastle, then went onto heat, absolute etc (my posts are on their pages) kns agency - not interested, our local BBC Alba, after 3 attempts at trying to get advice I'm eventually told to persist, incredible ... I could go on - very true what you say re dog policy, I think it's appalling ...

I have been tweeting organisations associated with the outdoors or Northumberland (eg YHA, NUFC, national parks), and also celebrities either associated with Northumberland or known to be dog lovers. Have been using the #findkip hashtag. I also mailed CBBC "Newsround" programme with the story, and have been publicising Kip's plight on my business Facebook pages and tweets (as well as my personal pages and tweets). I was thinking that Paul O'Grady's Sunday radio show may be a good place to get more coverage as (a) he is well known to be an animal lover and (b) he usually has a slot on his program about pets - probably would be best if the approach came from someone from NESSR or DogLost or from Sylvia? His show is on Sunday from 17:00-19:00 www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00jm03v/episodes/upcomingHappy to try to help - I live in Derbyshire so will be limited to online unfortunately. Julie

Not sure if this is the correct place for this - please can an Admin move it if not? Thanks. I've just been looking on the National Pet Register list of lost dogs and I can't see Kip on there: www.nationalpetregister.org/mp-dogs.phpAm I just not looking in the right place? Is it worth adding Kip to this database?

IDEA: Julie has put a Kip movie clip on the FB GROUP page, it's also on youtube - just wondering if local Post Offices/Estate agents etc would run this on their screens? Any post office workers/estate agents or anyone with a screen with exposure to the public?

BBC national news had an article this morning about a missing snake being found - surely Kip's story is much, much more desperate and appealing than that!!!!!!!

I have mailed Paul O'Grady to ask if he can possibly feature Kip on his Radio2 show this Sunday. If anyone else wants to do the same it might persuade the producers to do so. There is a contact form here: www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/paul-ogrady/contact/I included the DogLost link for Kip's page and mentioned that there is a reward for his safe return (not how much). Julie

Thanks for the information.
1. Don't bother contacting a generic email for a show. It is not read by the presenter.
2. Please concentrate on LOCAL media
